Groves of quaking aspen (Poplus tremuloides) dressed in their golden autumn finery stand guard as living gates to a nearby mountain along June Lake Loop, Inyo National Forest in the Eastern Sierra Mountains of California, as seen in this photograph taken in October 2017.

I am grateful to my dear precious Mother Cheryl who was with me on this road trip and advised I go back to a large group of aspen trees lining one side of the road. Looking perpendicular to the roadway was this gorgeous view which I would have missed had it not been for my dear Mother’s prompting.

Aspens near and far
Reveal the hidden treasure ~

This scenic portrait is dedicated in loving memory of Mama Cheryl, who graduated to Heaven almost exactly one year after this photo was taken.

I am reminded of the glory of God that shines brightly and helps ease the grief of the loss of a loved one, when we invite His presence into our hearts. The magnificence of our Creator is truly reflected in nature and a reminder of His great love for us.
