Color photograph of Spirit Lake Memorial Highway heading over one of the many bridges with amazing views and the Fall Season upon the journey to the top viewing vantage point of Mount Saint Helens. It was amazing to see the restoration of the forest after the first volcanic eruption when it blew it's top off. There have been several eruptions since. I happened to be visiting in Portland Oregon when the first blast happened and we could see the ash plum from the hills. Another time visited after it was reopened to the public and it was like seeing the trees thrown about like toothpicks for miles. It was delightful to see the trees so thick and beautiful on the journey to the Johnston Ridge Observatory at the top. Many vantage points to see Mount Saint Helens from different views.
