Description
An early morning hike in foothills at Mount Bross at 14,177 feet above sea level. I would guess that I am well below timberline. In Colorado timberline measures about 11,000 to 12, 00 feet. The thick mist was clearing pretty quickly as the sun was rising. You can feel the warm air reaching your face and hands. I summertime so it was jacket weather for sure, but not many layers needed. I remember the fresh scent of the pines. It's always amazing that the fresh air wakes up when you're out there in nowhere land. I remember to look out for wandering wildlife like mule deer and small marmots. Remember that Mount Bross sits among three other fourteeners in the Mosquito Mountain Range in the rocky mountain of north America. It's located in Pike National Forest, 4 miles northwest of the town of alma in Parl county, Colorado. It's neighboring pals are Mount Lincoln at 14,295 feet, Mount Cameron at 14, 238 feet, and the favorite, Mount Democrat at 14,154 feet.
