At first glance the busy streets in the centre of Truro look like any other all over the country but there is a secret and very special side to the only city in Cornwall.
Wander off the beaten track up the many opes and alleyways and you will find quaint buildings, some from the 1870's when the port of Truro was at its height, still operating as shops selling things not available on the High Street.
People’s Palace court, off Pydar Street is a rare survival of the type of development once widespread on Truro’s back plots and opes.

I just sat here and stared at this image for a couple minutes. What a great throwback with the 60's style on the mannequin, the green and white plastic chairs and who wouldn't recognize the huge picture of one of the best guitar players ever, Jimmy Hendrix. And then there is the painted bicycle on top of the entrance to this notably old yet well cared for building. I love it all!
