Description
This is a pretty Bachelors Button flower bud that will be pink when blooming out. They are also called Cornflowers. I planted these flowers in my garden last year and they came up again this year by themselves. I got my macro lens out and took some close ups. I liked the pattern on the bottom of the bud.
Bachelors Buttons (Centaurea cyanus) are also called cornflowers. They are in the asteraceae family of flowers. These flowers are drought tolerant and usually bloom in the summer months. They originated in Europe in the corn fields.
