Description

My original intention was to drive to the arboretum and take lovely photos of lovely flowers while the sun set in the background. Well, the sunset was too amazing not to chase it and that is exactly what I did.

Racing in my car heading west as quickly as I could, I stopped at every available viewable area but nothing quite looked right. Eventually stopped on top of a hill overlooking a meadow, trying to avoid the hoards of mosquitoes and possible wood ticks, I got in my car and hoped my 'short' trip to shoot the sunset was about to end.

A sharp left turn later and the with luck of the Gods, I ended up at the public access for Lake Waconia in Waconia, Minnesota. It was just in time too. The sun was going down, the storm clouds overhead were making their exit, the winds were blowing and I had finally found an amazing spot.

Although my hair, camera, dress and shoes were drenched by the end of the session it was beautiful and I'm happy to share it with you now. Hope you like it!
