Description
This hall is the Grand Foyer of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. The Kennedy Center opened in 1971 and is the busiest performing arts facility in the United States. It hosts about 2,000 performances a year, and its annual audience exceeds 20 million. The Grand Foyer has a sixty-three foot ceiling, tall mirrors and elegant lights that hang low and reflect nicely in the mirrors. The main attraction in the Grand Foyer is the eight-foot high, 3,000-pound bust of President Kennedy, made by sculptor Robert Berk. The bust is in the bottom left corner of this photograph.
