This image is an Older photograph from 2015 of my pet cat that is now unfortunately deceased. Personal note: I don't even like cats. He was a cat of many facets: cantankerous, ornery, feisty, a fighter, indomitable and loving to name just a few facets. He was a stray that my wife rescued after he was apparently struck and severely injured by a vehicle and she took him to a vet. She named him spooky after he actually survived the surgery at the vet's office because it was kind of spooky that he survived both the injuries and the surgery for the injuries. He lost an eye and had his broken jaw wired shut for several weeks requiring tube feeding and anti-biotics by syringe. Normally, we managed to avoid bleeding while we gave him his anti-biotics. He was a fighter for not only surviving the trip to the vet's office but for consistently beating off assaults by Niko, our large Labrador / Mastif mix that hated him. They came to a truce and learned to ignore each other. I came to grudgingly respect him. He earned his name after we had him neutered following his recovery from the emergency surgery for the vehicle accident. It took several years for him to quit actively searching for fights with the other local cats that strayed into "his territory". Another good reason to call him Spooky was because it was spooky that he didn't draw too much blood (at first) when he was playing or giving a love bite. My wife will probably NEVER let me live down the day that I admitted that he was my cat too. I will miss him.
