Description
Seen here is a statue of Abraham Lincoln and Harriet Beecher Stowe to commemorate their first meeting. It is in downtown Hartford Connecticut along the Riverfront. The tower seen between them is one of Hartfords oldest towers and is named Travelers Tower. It was finished in 1919 and at the time was the seventh tallest building in the world. It is still the second tallest building in Hartford!
Hartford Connecticut has a beautiful cityscape and overall skyline. It can best be seen over the Park or Connecticut river which is also sometimes referred to as the Hog River.. Downtown Hartford lights up nicely and shines brightly on the river for those viewing it from the riverwalk.
Hartford is the capital of the State of Connecticut. It’s home to the Mark Twain House & Museum. The 1874 mansion contains thousands of artifacts, including the desk at which Twain wrote his best-known works. The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center includes the author’s Victorian house and many period furnishings, plus a garden. The broad collection of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art includes Renaissance and impressionist works.
Please check out my entire Hartford collection for a wide variety of images including color, black and white, day, night, and panoramic !
