Description
Most of the people I know have at least one pieces of my photography or art for the exception of my friend Craig. I have asked him many times over the years what can I make you? Finally, he put in his request for the"Acrylic Light Box" He picked "Big Buddha" in Red. So I set out to make it. The first four times I ordered the picture it would be the wrong size. Then most of the companies I used started putting a heavy white backing on the back of the photograph. Well, this did not work on a lightBox when the light needs to shine through. So I am going to have to shift gears on the lightBox projects. Craig always said he liked the Artist "Ukiyo-e Hokusai." He made a fantastic series of woodblock prints. The prints were named "The Great Wave." Later to be called "The Wave." Craig over the years would show me reproductions of Hokusai's work, and I found it exciting and full of detail. So with the inspiration from Craig and great ideas from my husband, Russ. I am creating my rendition of HoKusi,s "The Great Wave." So long ago (1829-1833) when Hokusai took inspiration from the sea he was most likely witness to a Tsunami. So as a Photographer and an Artist I will take inspiration from the Large city. I always challenge myself to produce innovative renditions of interesting works of Art. With Hokusai 's "The Wave" series I am going bring it into the modern age. Now the tsunami not only consumes shoreline and people but will swallow massive modern skyscrapers. Look out for your favorite Skyscraper near you. Maybe even the Eiffel Tower?
