"Great White Pelican Portrait" by Diann Fisher. Posing for a photo is the great white pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus) This variety of pelican is huge. Their wing span can range from 7 to nearly 12 feet across. When then take to the air they can frequently be seen flying in the V-formation. The Great White has a white, grey plumage and their massive beak is grey, pink and yellowish in color. These three seem to flock together.
