The snow was on the horizon and I needed to get off Mount Desert Island and get home before the snow started flying! But to be on MDI with my camera and alone...I needed to get some shots in of this beautiful landscape, all frozen and covered in snow! This is Little Long Pond, which is part of the Rockefeller Private Property inside Acadia National Park. In the summer, you will find people walking their dogs and letting them have a swim in this pond. You will also see Loons, Herons and perhaps a beaver or two. But today, it's frozen with all of the inhabitants hibernating or have flown south for the winter. Acadia is wonderful in the summer, but much more magical in the winter. It's just a place you must visit in every season! By the way, I did make it home before the snow started flying out of the sky!
