Foundation Stone Under Wooden Pole Used In Chinese Architecture

Description
Chinese architecture demonstrates an architectural style that developed over millennia in China, before spreading out to influence architecture all throughout East Asia. Since the solidification of the style in the early imperial period, the structural principles of Chinese architecture have remained largely unchanged, the main changes being only the decorative details. Temples, government buildings, elite and upper class buildings all had an affinity for wood construction with ceramic tile roofing. The wooden poles used to support the structure are placed on bronze or stone stands so that rain and water cannot easily attack the base of the pole.
This is an example of a wooden pole on a stone support from a rich person's home of ancient times. (May 2019)
