"Flamenco Baile"
A digital pop art portrait oil painting on canvas of flamenco baile (dance) as performed by a woman in the traditional full red skirt surrounded by abstract shapes representing the passionate, emotional guitar music that embodies this beautiful cultural tradition of Spain. In fact, flamenco is such an important and iconic part of Spain's history it was declared to be one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010. I was a professional dancer for a good part of my youth, which included everything from belly dancing to teaching ballroom, and I always wanted to learn flamenco. One of my biggest regrets in life is that I never did. While I contemplate my poor life choices, please visit my Portraiture art gallery to see more of my cultural portrait artwork.
