Description
These guys are familiar to everyone, for sure — Firebug, aka Pyrrhocoris apterus (described and classified by C. Linnaeus in 1758).
Wingless and harmless insects, very recognizable and noticeable.
Friends of my preschool childhood: how many of them I sent to be eaten by ants from an anthill in the city square, where we often walked! I even remember their smell when you grab them in your hands.
I've met them recently in the park along with their nymphs.
