Amazing exposure and I am awed by the fact that you did not even use a tripod!!! V/F

this was on my laptop which died. I'm hoping they can recover my images off it. Else I may have to buy it back from Fine art. :-)

Darleen, I love night captures with neon & this is just "more than" cool! Thanks for the tip about the bean bag - great idea. I hate lugging around a tripod too, but am always working on night captures. Voted

Another thing that I've used is a bean bag on a table, rock etc. Tripod are great if you don't have far to go, or have somebody to help you carry it or if you have a titanium or carbon fiber one. I often have d. none of the above so use whatever's around. Image stabilizing lens' have helped a little too.

I cant believe you didnt use a tripod. U rock. But how would they have known if u did use one? From the settings? This is how little i know. I dont want to use a tripod or carry much equipment because i get migraines...so i dont even mess with that type of thing. But what you did...you r my hero!

The trick to my night phtoography is not to move the camera. This shot was during the contest so no tripods were allowed. I used my camera bag and hand as my stable point, hooked up a cable release to my camera to avoid shutter shake, then laid on the ground positioned camera and hit the button about 200 times. this one is my fav. Not if you don't have a cample release set your camera on selef timer then hit the shutter and wait.

Isnt it so much fun to shoot at night at a fair with all the lights and colors? Im not very good at it but just so "electric". Great job! Voted.

Thank you to all for the comments. It gives me hope. I actually entered this in a digital shootouts contest at the fair and out of 8 photographers placed 8th. They picked kids w poles coming out of their heads on bumper cars. A hand held shaken shot of kids in a funhouse.... I guess the lesson is. If u shoot for a fair shoot holey cloches. Here hee
