Back before photo shop et al, we used to filters on the lens to create something that wasn't and colors that weren't. This image of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge is looking East from the area around Annapolis, Maryland. The filters were used to suggest a sinking sun in the west leaving the under colors in the east.
