Eastern Colorado Mustard Fields

Description
I shot this in 2014 in eastern Colorado, USA. View in large format to enjoy the painterly effect which I used on this image.
Wild mustard has commonly been used to flavor foods, but more importantly wild mustard has been known for its herbal uses. A truly fascinating plant with a myriad of uses.
The mustard plant is a plant species in the genera Brassica and Sinapis in the family Brassicaceae. Mustard seed is used as a spice. Grinding and mixing the seeds with water, vinegar, or other liquids creates the yellow condiment known as prepared mustard. The seeds can also be pressed to make mustard oil, and the edible leaves can be eaten as mustard greens.
If you cant find a wild mustard growing near you, you must be living in the middle of a desert because they even grow in the arctic circle. In fact, its among the few plants in Greenland and is even found near the magnetic north pole.

Even though I've been in Eastern Colorado several times, I don't believe I have seen mustard fields before. You've corrected that with this beauty.

Thanks for the nice comment and appreciation Paul; I believe I was south east of Calhan a way when I shot this. I liked to travel the many backroads for unexpected photo ops :-))
