This original abstract, impressionistic painting by Patty Donoghue, was painted to support distance runner and bikers that do their sport to lift Charities. This specific 16 X16 painting was completed using primarily wax and oil mediums and was donated to support "BikeMS" and "Team in Training". Both of these organizations share missions with the theme of this project. The painting has a great deal of textures which is an attribute to the mediums. The piece exudes energy and uplifting spirit in emulation of the athletes. Through this texture and vibrant color the viewer can envision bikers going up a hill, tire prints, shoe marks, racing flags, embedded words and a gold river.
Donoghue hangs this painting diagonally to accent the bike theme and total uniqueness of this piece. The Winston Salem Foothills event where this artwork was auctioned, included a craft beer that also was designed and named in support of these athletes. The gold river helps in defining the shared effort between the Beer master and Artist. Much of Donoghue's collection of work has been used for charitable non profit efforts. Her ongoing positive energy through her paintings bring hope and energy to several causes.
