Description
Crown Fountain in Chicago's Millennium Park was designed by Jaume Plensa and built in 2004. It stands 50 feet tall and has video images of faces of actual Chicago citizens projected inside glass bricks. Water spouts out of their mouths. Children and adults alike love to splash in the water on the plaza in front of the fountain. While somewhat controversial when it opened it has become a crowd pleaser. The $17,000 million dollar cost to erect the fountain was completely funded by private donations.
