Description
Overhead storms especially in winter can mean troubles in the Netherlands. This photo was taken in January. Flood conditions can mean problems for the lowland country near Amsterdam, but these clouds moved out and became less threatening as the day wore on.
De Zaanse Schans in Zaandam, near Amsterdam is home to 8 windmills with great names such as The Cat (de kat), The Spotted Hen (de bonte hen) and The Cloverleaf (het klaverblad). The mills were used for varying purposes from sawmills to oil mills to mustard mills. We manages to spend hours here viewing a bakery museum and a museum of Dutch clocks, all in a setting of old historic buildings and barns.
When editing I noticed a cat in the photo. Can you find her?
