Description
This is a photograph of a ComEd substation across the street from Daley Plaza on Dearborn Street in the heart of the Loop. This enigmatic structure with an enormous black doorway but no door is topped by this lintel carving of a man clasping two thunderbolts in the Art Deco style. Sylvia Shaw Judson, the sculptor who created this named it Spirit of Electricity.
All proceeds will be donated to Chicago's Cornerstone Community Outreach in honor of photographer Richard Cleis, 1965-2021.
