"BLOODLINES" is Conceptual Art in an abstract expressionist / figurative abstraction piece created here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina. It began as a PHOTO! It tells a story of endurance and change during an international crisis and invites your interpretation.

** BLOODLINES is a visual narrative --it expresses contemporary angst in the face of a pandemic. It evolved for those who yearn, to cry out for the disposition of heart and mind required to maintain equanimity ... as "bad blood" flows and with it, chaos. This abstract image hopes to convey an urgent, emotive note painted in shades of red that may invoke a mutual sense of belonging wrapped in the "energies of love."

In this abstract, modern expressionist, paintography piece you may notice the juxtaposition of color coming together as a distillation where the warm blood of the natural world and abstract expression can meet. This is symbolic of positive change – the envisioning of unfolding new understanding and perspectives.

SYMBOLISM & STORY: This visual story emphasizes what initially we see and what we come to see upon closer inspection.

It is symbolic of mindfulness, the lessons of emotive influence and introspection. Within the fraught process of selection, this image seems to ask, and that we -- each of us --face every day, are we ready to look more deeply and beyond the apparent?
