Photographed at home, digitally added text and painted touch ups, to enhance the glass case, the silver scrolls are not digitally changed, I just clean it with toothpaste. I never had the original statue. So, I added, Vintage Holy Card, taped to the glass, which my Dad had given me, to bless my new purchased home, decades, ago, ~ Image: original photographer unknown, of Senhor Santo Cristo, portrait, is from St. Mary's Church, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

History
1700 - 1st Procession: Devotion, to Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres (SSCM) was born when the population went out in procession, during the great earthquake, that happened on April 11, 1700, on the island of São Miguel, in the archipelago of the Azores.

This procession traveled, throughout the city, passing through all the existing convents in Ponta Delgada, was joined by brotherhoods, religious communities, as well as, all the nobility; and an innumerable crowd.

They passed among debris and corpses, until a stronger tremor made the image of Senhor Santo Cristo (Lord, Holy Christ) fall from the bed, which remained straight without breaking or dirtying. It is said that at that moment, the earth stopped shaking, the sea softened and the sky cleared, thus, giving rise to the great devotion to Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres (Lord, Holy Christ of Miracles).

1917 - The procession of Senhor Santo Cristo, which took place on May 13th, coincided with the 1st apparition of Our Lady, to the little shepherds, in Fatima, Portugal.
