Whitehaven Beach is said to be the most photographed and awarded beach in Australia and continually features in the top 10 beaches in the world. While beautiful and relaxing with silica that squishes into your toes which never heats up, snorkeling opportunities right off the beach and great camping facilities that is nestled among some of the most amazing natural wonders of the world, I would have to dispute that claim of being the most photographed beach in Australia.
Don't get me wrong, it is amazing and worth every penny to travel there, but as a native Australian landscape photographer I can tell you it a lot cheaper and easier to travel to Bondi Beach or Surfers Paradise beach where you can stay in an apartment overlooking the beach with thousands of others and take tons of photos. For that reason and because of it's isolated and not so easy to get to location, I would have to say that it is not the most photographed beach in Australia. However, it is certainly one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and if you like to experience nature to the fullest, you simply must have Whitsunday Island's on your bucket list.
