Description
Rudy the Alpaca lives on a friends farm in Goshen, Connecticut. He has recently been shorn, leaving the top of his head long. I have to admit that any Alpaca makes me smile, they are fun, funny looking, adorable animals. Rudy is no exception. With his funny hairdo and typical under bite, he is something else!
This photo was taken in Goshen, Connecticut.

Originally from South America, Alpaca farms have cropped up everywhere. Rudy is a lone alpaca on this goat farm, and he does get along with his other friends. Domesticated thousands of years ago, they are quite used to living with people. They are related to the Llama, and can cross breed successfully with them. I didn't realize that Alpaca wool is used in the production of mohair!
Rudy does occasionally "spit" at you, and he does spend much of his time alone. Perhaps Rudy needs a mate, as they are pack animals.
