Title
B26 Marauder
Artist
Mike King
Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Arches Paper
Description
I painted this in 2004 as a commission for a friend’s father, George Ward. George was the radioman and wastegunner and he flew on this aircraft for his tour of duty in the European theater against the Nazi’s. The aircraft was never damaged during the war and returned home with all of its crew. It’s light body color is the unpainted aluminum skin. B26’s were the only American airplanes that flew in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. They had the best survival rate of any American aircraft that flew in WW2. George passed away not long after I finished the picture.
