Description
The ancient peoples of the Southwestern United States, were proficient in their architect skills. This ruin here, deomnstrates the influence of the Hopi tribes. The rounded corners were introduced to the ruins of North America. Homes were built of stone and plastered with mud to protect from heat in the summer and cold in the winter. Their homes were built high up the canyon walls under large overhangs. These homes were protected from enemies, and also served as storage areas for the small villages. Long rope and wodden ladders were used to descend and ascend these high homes. The men would tend the livestock and the crops. Women would gather foods, and work on their magnificent weaving and pottery. The men painted petroglyphs on the walls next to the pueblos. Tryly these ancient peoples were magnificent people.
