Ambrosia is the self-titled debut album by the American band Ambrosia, released in 1975 by 20th Century Fox Records. The album reached #22 on the Billboard Top 200’s chart. “Holdin’ On to Yesterday” charted #17 on the Billboard’s Top 100 singles hits. “Nice, Nice, Very Nice” was a minor hit, charting # 63, that set to music the lyrics from a poem in Kurt Vonnegut’s novel Cat’s Cradle.
The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Engineered Recording, other than Classical. Alan Parson of Alan Parson’s Project fame was the mix-down engineer and then producer for their second album, Somewhere I’ve Never Traveled. All tracks were written by one or more of the band members with Vonnegut noted on “Nice, Nice, Very Nice.
The band members included, Dave Pack- guitar, lead and backing vocals, Christopher North- keyboards, backing vocals, Joe Puetra- bass, lead and backing vocals, and Burleigh Drummond- drums, backing vocals, percussion, and bassoon.
