Description
This action baseball composite painting is based on the antics of five fielders, one from each team in the Major League Baseball MLB American League East division. The baseball teams represented in this painting are Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays. The wild and colorful watercolor splashes mimic the baseball player's movements and add excitement to the composition.
I wanted to show the fast action of the players by working quickly with the watercolor, using plenty of water and splashing freely to suggest a sense of speed, fun and freedom in the action. By overlapping the figures creating a transparent effect, the action appears to flow from one figure to the next. This watercolor sketch is only intended to show the spirit of the game and does not represent any particular player of the Major League Baseball MLB teams.
