Description
The Tower City complex in downtown Cleveland, Ohio from across the Cuyahoga River.
Back when trains were the best way to travel, this was called the Terminal Tower because of the railroad terminal in the underground level of the building, which is still used as the main hub for the city's Rapid Transit System.
For most of its life, this building was the tallest structure in the U.S. west of New York's Empire State Building.
During Cleveland's first Renaissance, the street level became a huge shopping area filled with very upscale shops and boutiques, and was renamed "TOWER CITY"
