I have always been surrounded by art and artists.   My father was a popular commercial artist in my hometown of Huntsville, Al.   The vast majority of the people my parents socialized with were artists of one sort or another.   The artists ranged from technical illustrators to potters to musical instrument makers to cartoonists and animators.   I am not sure we ever entertained non artsy types in our home for the entire eighteen years I lived there.   I, personally worked first as a technical illustrator and graphic artist, then as a draftsman, mechanical designer,...more
