Description
Fine art nature landscape photograph capturing the serenity of pre-dawn at a winter wetlands refuge in the Sacramento Valley of Northern California. Silhouettes of migratory waterfowl cruise the mirrored waters of the marsh.
Skeletons of winter-bare trees cast their reflections on the ripples. A Great Blue Heron (Ardea Herodias) rises from the cattails and teasel that crowd the shore. The distant shoreline is rimmed in deep orange, a precursor to imminent sunrise, but a single star still shines in the dark navy sky.
