Description
Yellow Crownbeard is a native wildflower found in much of the eastern half of the United States. Long stalks are topped with bunches of rather haphazard-looking flowers that despite their rather random arrangement, are quite lovely and lend a beautiful golden glow to the late summer landscape. I captured this image on a mid-September afternoon, with the sun beginning to sink toward the horizon, adding a soft light that I found appealing. And, as I framed this, a little visitor popped in and lighted on top of one of the bunches of blossoms.
