Wreck Of The Pallas
Photograph - Photography
This Norwegian freighter lies inside the reef off the beach at South Sound, near the barrier reef. The Pallas sank in a storm in 1903 and bits of wreckage are scattered 6 to 10 feet beneath the waves, with parts exposed above the water. Its a short swim out from shore but currents can be very strong in this area. It is a fairly popular dive/snorkel site.
Some of the artifacts from the wreck can be seen in the Cayman Islands National Museum in George Town, Grand Cayman.
