• Framed in silver aluminum frame with white mat measuring 20 ½”L x16” H

• I love painting Bowling Green, Kentucky landscapes and I love painting chrome and I love to have new art ideas to explore soooo…a few years ago, our local university Western Kentucky (WKU…Go Hilltoppers!) changed their football helmets to chrome helmets. I immediately messaged the Dean through Facebook and asked to borrow a helmet so I cold snap some pictured with it for an upcoming exhibition. Once I had helmet in hand, I drove around town and the university shooting pictures of local landmarks reflected on the helmet.
• I drew the image on Arches 300pd rough watercolor paper and on Aceo paper. I painted the studies on small sheets of Aceo paper, then painted the bigger works on Arches using Daniel Smith and Holbein watercolors. Watercolor is the absolute best medium for reflections.
• The reflection in this helmet shows the Augenstein Alumni Center located on the WKU campus. In the background is a student walking towards Van Meter Auditorium on the top of the Hill.
