Nadine has been inspired by many artists, at times when looking for a theme, she will look at others like Van Gogh who arrived in Arles when the ground was covered with snow with record cold temperatures. The original was painted with acrylic on Hardboard. One of our favorites for its smooth surface, so it does not show all the imperfections shown on some canvas.
She enjoyed his painting of snow, but never wants to copy and thought his first painting would give her some ideas and decided to do as he did, complete one im a day.
The painting is of snow-covered mountains on the horizon. Horizontal brushstrokes emphasize the plain that fills most of the painting; tension is created by the diagonal strokes . Using color to depict the components of the landscape. White and violet are used for snow. Brown, green and blue is used in the trees and tufts of grass painted in along the side of the hill. The view is accented by the mountains along the horizon...
