Wisconsin winters are not my favorite time, sure they start out fine -the fresh, white fluffy snow that blankets the land and gentle slumber of everything around is peaceful. But, after a short time, I find myself yearning for the warmth of the sun, the singing birds and I fall into the trap of depression - wishing away my time. Wishing for spring.

Thankfully, this part of my life doesn't last long. I pull myself together and go out and search for some beauty and something to lift my spirits.

This image is from along the shores of Lake Michigan in Whitefish Bay in Door County, Wisconsin. A stretch of land that seemed to have golden glows of sunshine and little snow over some of the winter. It was a welcoming site to see waving grass, green evergreen trees and aqua waters. Restoring my faith that whatever you search for is out there - you just have to go and take a little time to find it. Doom and gloom is short lived. Warm, golden sunshine and beauty you seek is out there - just keep searching!
