Painting - Watercolor On Paper
I am attempting to try different techniques and looks with all the pieces in my floral series and this one is no exception. I was determined to have this one look a bit more loose and painterly than some of my other work. I used exclusively 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on this one while Arches 140# cold-pressed paper was the substrate. A closeup of this piece will reveal the very unique way the paints mingled and flowed in conjunction with the coarse paper to create a very bizarre textured background. The original is 14"x10.25" in size.
