Title
Weir Dam At Doe River
Artist
Jim Cook
Medium
Photograph - Photography B&w
Description
A weir dam is meant to have water flow over it's top rather than simply act as a dam that would impound water behind it. Generally used to aid in the prevention of flooding but also to alter the flow of water.
This scene is from the town of Elizabethton Tennessee.
Elizabethton is also the historical site for the first independent American government (known as the Watauga Association, created in 1772) located west of both the Eastern Continental Divide and the original thirteen British American colonies.
This B&W image was made with a Sony Mirrorless camera converted to the infrared spectrum.
