Description
Saturday is usually shopping day for the Amish. Here they are at the local General Dollar Store in Shreve, Ohio. On any given Saturday you can find at least 5 Amish buggy's at the hitching rail. Wayne County, Ohio is home to many Amish families. The Amish always live the simple life but are hard workers.
Founded in 1796, Wayne County Ohio was the third county to be established in the Northwest Territory.
The Northwest Territory later divided into the states of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.
Wayne County was named after "Mad" Anthony Wayne who was General George Washington's revolutionary war colleague.
