Original watercolor painting, 'Walking Through the Winter Forest', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. I am working on a commission of a winter forest painting, and am exploring and testing out different options. This piece features a birch/ aspen forest in winter, with pine trees and more aspen growing in the background. Snow covers the ground, and shadows and sunlight play across the ground. A path crosses the gentle slope, receding into the distance, and a figure can be seen walking. Many colors fill this piece, both warm and cool, though they are mostly soft. This composition was inspired by a scene I experienced and photographed while snowshoeing in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
