Original watercolor painting, 'Hummingbird in Rain Shower', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. I very much enjoy painting birds, and hummingbirds especially. And there are dozens of beautiful, colorful hummingbird species found in North and South America, but the bulk of these tiny gems live in the cloud and rain forests of central and South America. I chose to paint the Crimson Topaz, a large hummingbird which lives in certain areas of the Amazon rainforest. The male is multi-colored. I created a background that is very common in these tropical forests - rain! Raindrops and rainfall flows through the background of leaves and flowers. This piece is perfect for any bird or nature lover, and would add an elegant touch to any space.
