In the Palm Springs area of California, tucked in between Palm Springs, Palm Desert, surrounded by beautiful scenic mountain ranges and the desert lands which these cities were built on, you will find Cathedral City.

These photos were taken at the Healing Field in Cathedral City in 2010 when I took my boyfriends children who were off from school that day. On a personal note, it was so touching and so moving. To see young children actually visualize how many people have died in these wars by the number of flags made a true impact. Hearing about it on TV is different than touching, feeling and seeing the field of thousands of flags that represent a human life, such as their own. It is annual commemoration of the Veteran�s Day.

The Cathedral City tradition continues as the Cathedral City Rotary Club their Annual Healing Field flag memorial at Patriot Park. Area resident and visitors will gather at the Healing Field during the week of Veterans Day, to remember and honor. As visitors walk through rows of full size flags flying on 8 foot poles they share a healing experience that is the source of the flag memorial�s name. A Healing Field display of flags, that adults may remember and youth's may learn of the sacrifice which has purchased our freedom.

A field of flags to pay tribute to the men and women who have died in Afghanistan and Iraq since we went to war. Each flag represents a fallen soldier.
