Photo taken during one of my visits to the Arty District in Montmartre, Paris. Montmartre is such a magical and inspiring place where many famous artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, Miro and before them Manet, Toulouse-Lautrec, Géricault, Renoir and Van Gogh, painters have made Montmartre their home. I found this stairwell with many locks of different shapes and sizes and I just thought it was a beautiful collection of peoples memories , made me wonder, what they were thinking and feeling at that time when they placed that lock on that stairwell I'm sure there is a story behind each lock and as the metal tarnishes the memories and the stories will continue in the minds and hearts of those who placed them there and for onlookers to only wonder what that untold story maybe.
