Congratulations on having this particular work of art featured in the "Old Masters Group" in addition to all of the other groups who also were able to see the beauty of your work. In addition to your visual art creation "Turning Point," you took the time to include a history of some of the hardships and life that the American Indian once faced in our country I have always felt that great art told a story and that when that story helped others learn some of our histories and to become more knowledgeable about our world, that then, art and the ones who create it can live for centuries in the lives of others from one generation to another. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bravo to you, Steve Henderson

Steve Henderson replied:

Thank you, Philip and Robbie, for your kind and thoughtful words. That is exactly how we see the role of art: beauty as well as meaning.

What a beautiful painting and a meaningful description! I hope many people read it. My elementary school teacher taught us a love for Native Americans and a deep respect by reading us pioneering stories. I sincerely wish the conflicts between Native American and European settlers never happened, not only because of the humanitarian crisis that ensued, but also because as you mentioned we lost something very beautiful. I'm glad that in a few places Native American culture and a respect for the natural world lives on.

Steve Henderson replied:

Thank you for your kind and thought-filled words, Danielle. Yes, I sympathize with your wish. At least we all can learn from history and do what we can, when we can now -- even if it is nothing more than a kind word or gesture or opinion.
