Description
The sun was setting on this restored old Texaco station when I found it along Route 66 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. As I stared at it I wondered if perhaps my father, a loyal Texaco customer, had ever stopped here on our many trips along this historic highway in the 50's and early 60's. Thanks for the memories Dad!

Thank you Toni, I appreciate the comment! As a child I always thought it was a funny name too. (I might still)

I love seeing these old stations restored! Great shot! I think we may have stopped by there in 1972, when my mom moved us from San Francisco to middle of nowhere Oklahoma. I was 10. I remember us taking a stop in Tucumcari. My triplet brothers thought the name of the town was so funny.

Thank you Jurgen. I must have missed it several times until I sat eating at an outside dining area in a restaurant across the street.
