Today (12/5/14), the United Launch Alliance (ULA) and NASA had an outstanding success with the first test flight of the Orion space craft. I live on the Space Coast of Florida, love all things space, and today's launch rekindled the exploring and pioneering spirit within me. I am glad to have finished this piece at the same time this event transpired and want to congratulate everyone involved in the effort. It is been a long time since I have been so transfixed on the TV waiting with excitement and anticipation as the historic moment unfolded. With our getting out into the universe the possibilities are endless and everyone here on the space coast is excited to see our country moving in this direction. Perhaps this could be the view from one of your or my descendants' living room window some day! With the holidays so close, this would make a great gift idea...a poster any lover of space, science, or science fiction would certainly appreciate!
