Description

This is an oil pastel drawing that I based on a photo I took while out walking my dog.

Durning lockdown we had to explore places near us while looking for good places to walk my furry friend.

There was a wonderful manmade estuary that we found and it was a great place to walk.

We went there early and sometimes there would be fog in the air and we would hear the sound of the Canadian Geese that had flown in for the night.

It was a beautiful magical experience and that is what I sought to capture in this drawing.

The reality was quite different.

The estuary was a stormwater catchment and the purple hills in the background were actually industrial units.

Sometimes it is better to draw what we want to see rather than what we do see. There lies the power of the pencil.

This piece of art would look great on any wall so why not treat yourself today.
