While enjoying a walk around the nature trail at the Venice Campus of State College of Florida, many ibises were enjoy their morning baths before going out to forage for breakfast in the grasses nearby. Apparently these three were all watching the same thing. Maybe an attractive female bird caught their attention.
The State College of Florida campus is about 100 acres and is open to local residents and visitors to visit to enjoy the large wetlands area which attracts many of Florida's coastal birds and wildlife to the shallow lakes and ponds.
The ibis is the mascot of the University of Miami Hurricanes sports teams and is named Sebastian.
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains.
